overview
Topaz can be a wide range of colors and saturations from cool to warm tones. They are often found containing little to no color and are treated chemically to change them blue. Like all the gemstones save pearls, topaz are cut and polished to release their beauty by controlling how light enters and exits the stone. Topaz have a physical property called pleochroism. That means that their color can change based on what angle you view it at. This optical property is caused by the orientation of the crystalline lattices within the topaz.
